Israel, Fascinating tourist attraction! Well known for its geographical features ,religious sites, Eilat scuba diving and Israeli history.
Best city to Stay
My Vote will always go to the “Tel-aviv ” which is most happening place, good connectivity, sea shores, restaurants etc.
Being Vegetarian , The most famous dish from Israel and which I liked is ‘Falafal’, tasty salads, Hummus-Pita bread. Other than that you can have all types of food available Indian, Mexican,Italian,Vegan and more. Few clicks 😀
Here there is list of places which you must visit .I had visited these places long time back, one day tour. You will find n number of tourist guide or vehicle online but best way is to drive your own car.
- Dead sea
- Holy wall
In addition to this there is north Israel to explore which is again one day tour.
- Rosh hanikra
Please keep in mind public transportation (in much extend private too ) will not be available on Saturday so plan accordingly else it will be harder/costly to go outside on Saturday in Israel , Personal experience. Best way to rent car in advance.
Haifa -> Acre(Akko)->Rosh hanikra
Haifa : Baha’s garden and the golden temple is the main attraction in Haifa.
Akko– Coastal plain region of Israel old city acre, also known as Akko. You can do boating ,walking around the coastal line, many stalls to do shopping etc.
Rosh Hanikra – Beautiful Geographical creation on the border of Israel and Labanon. A beautiful love story between sea and rock. To reach this place you need to take a 45 shekel cable car ride down to the cliff
These Grottoes and caves are formed with thousands years of sea power. The whole big rock is become shape of elephant leg.
After a walk through caves , we went to watch Audio-visual presentation in the tunnel itself. Yeah, There is a rail tunnel in the cliff face which was one of promise of creation rail between caira-haifa-beirut.
It’s southern part of Israel which is blessed with amazing seashore and deserts .
There are many ways to reach Eilat from Tel -Aviv by flights, public transportation, tourist packages but best way is ‘self drive’ as on the way there will be many spots where you can take break and enjoy views. One of them is ‘Mitzpe Ramon’ which can be one day tour and you can do rock climbing ,rappling the Ramon Crater ,jeep Ride etc.
Anyways my plan was for 2 days vacation in Eilat .
where did I stay in Eilat ? – I had booked hotel ‘Red sea Hotel ‘ which was on walkable distance from Eilat bus station and near by there are malls ,one of sea shore and one of restaurant which was in my list to visit ‘Florintin restaurant ‘.
1st Day – I preferred public transportation of 4/5 hrs travel . My friend Michal gross helped me to book bus from http://Egged.co.il website which was cheapest option than any other things to reach Eilat and back to tel-Aviv i.e. 112 shekel . I had bus at ~ 8 AM from bus station which was ~5 km away from place where i had stayed in Tel Aviv.
After check – in to hotel , first thing I did in my Eilat Diary was scuba Diving which was Amazing experience. I went through Manta dive center ,thanks to Einat and Tal to find out best dive center for me and also managed to get discount for me .
After coming back from dive center, I went to malls, sea shore and near by shops. Dinner had to be @Florintin Restaurant.
2nd Day -Morning started from beach then I had a Shanti Jeep tour and through Cyanide ,Salomon Mountains to Red Canyon to En Netafim which is water sprint then mountain Joash. This was more like private tour since I was the only person .It costs to me 600 shekel ( You can share if it’s group) but I must say it was worth since uncle was guiding throughout and was telling me geographical significance of each area.
Jeep Ride started from salomon mountains , It was full on desert but still greener at few spots with trees like akashia, Craper etc. This sand is from sea since there was a actual sea lacs of years ago which became desert later as per local .
In this area , I saw camel ride which is famous in Eilat by name ‘Camel Ranch’ but I think Jeep Ride will be best . Then we passed through king Yoshefat Mountains.
From this place you can have great view of Egypt border.
Next Stop was Red canyon – Near the end of your ride ,on left you will see Egyptian border. After parking jeep, you can observe Wadeshani river route near Red canyon of course there is no water . This tour is combined with walking and climbing ladders ,sometimes slippery . Red canyon, a very beautiful and must visit hiking trail in Eilat . You will see varied of colors like yellow ,white,Red .
This was ~1hr walk/hike through narrow/wide route and you must be out from here before it gets dark down.
Next stop for me was Ein Netafim – It was small water spring in eilat mountains, water source for most of the animals there.
The last stop of the tour was Mount Joash which offers a beautiful view of the gulf of Eilat at sunset and a panorama of four countries at one point- Israel, Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia .
At the end I headed towards bus station to start return journey to Tel- Aviv . In addition to above places you can hit Petra ,Jordan tours .
